Quelque chose de plus grand. Something bigger.

Peindre en grand format est un processus qui ne m'est pas très familier. Je suis habitué à travailler rapidement et sur de petits formats. Là, c'était un peu un challenge que j'avais à faire face pour répondre à des commandes. Je croyais naïvement qu'il suffisait d'agrandir techniquement le croquis qui en était la base. J'ai vite réalisé que le croquis perdait en route les petits défauts qui en faisaient son charme et qu'il fallait reprendre tout le travail depuis le début. J'y ai beaucoup appris mais je ne sais pas si un jour cela deviendra ma tasse de thé.

Painting bigger is a process I am not familiar with. I am used to work fast and small. Here, it was quite challenging to work bigger on commission. I wrongly thought I could technically enlarge the sketch. It didn't take long before I realized that all the small errors that made something vivid to the sketch changed a lot when printed bigger. I had to rework all the stuff. I learned a lot from this experience but I don't know it this will be my cup of tea some day.
